JEAN-LOUIS RENÉ

Jean-Louis René won a first prize at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 1985 under the tutelage of Guy Deplus. While studying there, he also won a first prize for chamber music. Later on, he became the winner at the International Competition of Chamber Music in Tokyo.
In 1992, he founded the clarinet quartet 5RV and has performed in many concerts in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Arur, including the International Congress of Clarinet in Ostend (Belgium) in 1999.
Jean-Louis has given many solo recitals in the United States, Canada, Portugal, China, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia and Russia, and also Master Classes in Ukraine, Belarus and Estonia. He has been the Artistic Advisor at Vandoren for the manufacturing of reeds and mouthpieces for clarinet and saxophone since 1982, and has participated monitoring the production and development of many new products
