COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATION (DIVISION A & B)

  • The Singapore Clarinet Festival (SGCF 2015) Ensemble Competition is opened to all SINGAPORE-BASED clarinet ensembles only.
  • The size of the each ensemble range from a minimum of FOUR (4) members to a maximum of SIXTEEN (16) members.
  • Each group may choose to perform with a conductor. The conductor will be counted as a member of the group (subject to maximum of sixteen members).
  • The competition is divided into two divisions (A & B). The age limit of Division B is 17 Years old as of 31 Dec 2015.
  • The maximum number of groups per division is FIFTEEN (15). Registration strictly on a first come first serve basis.
  • The competition for each division will only proceed with a minimum of SIX (6) participating groups.
  • Each organization is only allowed to enter ONE (1) group per division.
  • Each member is only allowed to enter the competition ONE (1) time.
  • Each group must indicate the selected repertoire before start of competition and own an ORIGINAL copy of the selected set piece.
  • Participating group MUST bring along the original copy of the selected set piece during competition day. Groups will be disqualified if original copy is not presented.
  • Each group may choose to include multiple member/s for each part, based on own discretion.
  • In case of missing instrumentation, each group is allowed to substitute with the following:
  • 4th Bb Clarinet for Alto Clarinet  /  Basset Horn for Alto Clarinet  /  BBb Contra-bass Clarinet for EEb Contra-Alto Clarinet
  • The contesting group is responsible for own transposition of score for the substitute part/s.
  • Each group must submit the application form and make payment to the organizer by 15th October 2015. (Extended to 31 October 2015)
  • MOE Schools may make payment via IFASS.
  • Each group will be given complimentary festival passes corresponding to the number of members.
  • The Jurys’ decision for award is final. No appeal shall be entertained.
