Zephyr Flute Ensemble (Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA)
The word 'Zephyr' stands for gentle breeze from the west, signifying the usage of air/wind in flute playing. Zephyr Flute Ensemble was founded in 2009 by Ho Chee Kiang to advocate the arts and promote excellence in flute music through performances, compositions, workshops, and so on. Zephyr Flute Ensemble always looks forward to collaborations in the spirit of the arts and music-making.
Zephyr Flute Ensemble was invited to perform at the 2015 International Wind Band Festival in Taiwan. The ensemble has also performed with Roberto Álvarez in 2017, Koh Yew Kia, and Yap Siu Yan in 2019 at UCSI University. Furthermore, Zephyr Flute Ensemble pioneered the Chamber Wind Project at KLPAC and was part of the lineup from concert series I (2011) to V (2019). In 2023, Zephyr Flute Ensemble put up a series of concerts featuring music from Genshin Impact and had a coaching session with Naohisa Furusawa. |
